DEVICE

the DEfinition, construction, Validation and Implementation of Core outcomes sets, standardized quEstionnaires and tools for clinical practice

Patient-centered care relies on the ability to identify, measure, and communicate outcomes that are meaningful to patients and clinically relevant to healthcare professionals. This raises specific methodological challenges related to the definition of relevant outcomes, the validity and comparability of measurement instruments, and their translation into feasible and useful tools for routine clinical practice.

The DEVICE axis aims to address these challenges through the definition of meaningful health outcomes, the development and validation of robust measurement instruments, and their implementation in clinical practice.

accompagne

The DEVICE axis is structured around three main objectives:

  1. To define what should be assessed through conceptual frameworks and Core Outcome Sets;
  2. To measure clinical outcomes, symptoms, quality of life, patient experience, and preferences using robust and innovative instruments, notably standardized or adaptive questionnaires with strong psychometric properties;
  3. To develop and implement standardized tools for clinical practice supporting shared decision-making and physician–patient communication, by facilitating the expression of patients’ needs, expectations, and outcomes that matter to them.
